Wordsmith Press in Poets Biography & Poetry Resource Directory

The Wordsmith Press was formed originally as Westside Press in 1995 to provide a broader forum for the work of performance poet Steve Marsh. That first publication was a little chapbook entitled Skinny Poems, which is still available from The Wordsmith Press. In 1997, Steve came out with another volume of poetry entitled Saggy Pants. It was joined that year by Shoulder To Shoulder, a collecton of poetic works by Steves wife, Debora Marsh. Both titles are still available through The Wordsmith Press. Since 1998, The Wordsmith Press has put out many small volumes of poetry and tall tales by some of the best performance poets and storytellers in the country. In 2000, The Wordsmith Press began to produce CDs of the performances of these artists.
