The Terzanelle Form in Poets Biography & Poetry Resource Directory
The Terzanelle pronounced turzuhnell is a combination of the French forms Terza Rima and Villainelle, where the second line of a stanza is repeated as the third line of the following stanza. Its characteristics include repeating triplets rather than quattrains in the body, with a concluding quattrain. The Terzanelle has two alternate forms of endings.
