Touring of Haiku Monuments in Poets Biography & Poetry Resource Directory

Haiku Monuments are modest in scale, usually including simply the text of a wellloved poem and the name of the author. The city of Matsuyama and Ehime Prefecture, home to such poets as Shiki and Santoka, and visited by Saigyo, boasts a large number of such haiku stones. Presented with full texts in both Japanese and English translations, along with photographs and background information, by Ehime University.
